California Human Trafficking Statute

LEGAL DISCLOSURES UNDER THE CALIFORNIA TRANSPARENCY IN SUPPLY CHAINS ACT

The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act (SB 657) is designed to combat slavery and human trafficking by requiring companies to disclose information about their supply chains, thereby allowing consumers to make informed decisions about the products they use.

Mizkan supports the fight against slavery and human trafficking and applauds California’s efforts to address this global issue. Here at Mizkan, we have long been committed to doing business in a lawful and ethical manner. Most of our employees and suppliers are located in the United States. We believe that our overseas employees are entitled to the same high quality of employment as our domestic employees. We require all suppliers, including overseas suppliers, to follow Mizkan’s Supplier Code of Ethics. We depend on our suppliers to audit their operations for compliance with company standards and, as required, verify that their supply chain is free of objectionable conduct. We will not conduct business with any company unable to certify due compliance of the products supplied to us. Mizkan’s Supplier Terms and Conditions and Supplier Code of Ethics address these concerns.

Moving forward, Mizkan will remain committed to protecting human rights. We will maintain our internal accountability standards regarding ethical conduct and move quickly to remedy any conduct we find objectionable. During training, we will also continue to stress Mizkan’s history and values to all of our employees that have direct responsibility for supply chain management. By taking these steps, Mizkan is showing its commitment to the global effort to eliminate slavery and human trafficking.”
